I used to apply them when I first got my cats and wasn't sure if they would scratch my piece of furniture. My kitties didn't mind them, and I thought they looked especially cute on Clementine. Information technology was kind of a hassle to replace them every week or two though. My babies don't mind me playing with their nails, merely I simply got lazy and didn't take a meaning demand for them.

I thought most putting cherry-red ones on Izmae one fourth dimension, just, to meet,
what, she, looks similar, with her Seal Point color. probably won't.

We moved on to leather furniture later polling the community and found that our girls had no involvement in leather. So no need for the caps in our home.

I would if I needed to protect my furniture or if my kitten ends up expert enough to be a certified therapy pet and we go visit hospitals or seniors homes . Would exist cute to take pink caps. But if not and she uses her cat tree instead of piece of furniture then there would exist no demand. At least it'southward an option to steer people abroad from declawing. I took vet tech in college for a bit and had to learn how to exercise it and never again.

I use them on Brienne sometimes. They are very easy to put on and stylish!

We've used them a few times on Loki and Gatsby, only we don't really need to apply them. They don't scratch upwardly the furniture, and Loki has figured out if he bites them, he gets them all off in less than 24 hours. Gatsby doesn't heed them though.

Never used them and probably never volition. I read so much almost how these things are bad for cats, and then I too read about cats with bug scratching themselves who was saved by the caps, so at present I do empathise. When Ossi came to live with us and started scratching on stuff we picked him upwardly millions of times and put him on a scratch board and eventually he learned where to practice it. What is right or incorrect, I cannot say, simply our manner worked this time, with this cat...

Yes, I used to put them on Loki if his cervix was scratched up to requite information technology time to heal upward.
Never accept had a trouble with furniture beingness destroyed by the cats. We have lots of scratching posts and cat furniture throughout the house then they take proper scratching items.

I don't use nail caps. By and large because my cats are adults now and I think information technology would be too much of a change for them to handle at this age. We do get the cats scratching carpeting and piece of furniture sometimes so information technology would be somewhat helpful simply I don't recollect I volition use them. I want them to exist able to use their nails (playing, scratching, feeling condom, etc.) even though I would prefer a non scratched-upward couch. Oh well!

I've used them on Moses earlier and he didn't mind them at all. He likes them more then getting his nails trimmed every calendar week.
He really hates nail trimming but a few years agone, I started counting his nails as I trimmed and he tolerates information technology much more than. So, when I become to 5, he know we are done on one mitt. Nosotros just do fronts or backs at a time, so we only count two times and he is washed...gratis to run! Just information technology really helps him. He starts to get antsy around #3 merely he'll sit still...I think I taught my cat to count!

Mr. Wrinkles but scratches on his kitty scratcher. He actually goes & scratches on it for actress attending since he knows whenever he does he gets a "Good boy!" and kitty loves. Nothing like positive reinforcement to train a cat! (y)

Nosotros tried them. Ernie kept gnawing them off. I stopped because I was afraid he would swallow them. I couldn't get them off of Pharaoh and Vega, so had to wait until their claws grew out. It was really hard with Vega because he gets and then Aroused during blast trims. Bottom line: the boys' safety, condolement and happiness is far more important than pristine furniture

@GalaxySPHYNX
I'm sure you long since solved this merely...really there are only a couple of sizes. Most wear the regular, and if they are also big you can easily trim them. If information technology is betwixt declawing (evil) and caps, always employ caps. Personally I simply trim my kitty's nails. Also, if you take lots of scratching options near the furniture, nearly cats will happily choose them over your couch.

Never used them...Not opposed to it just worried near the application and re-doing them..I don't fifty-fifty do my nails every 2 weeks...I like to..but I don't.
If I demand them we'll try them out...but I'grand hoping I can just leave him/her natural.

I had a cat once that I used them on while he was young and rambunctious. He only needed them during his "wild" days lol.

I accept enough trouble trimming their nails because they aren't willing participants. Tin't imagine being able to put caps on but the caps do seem very practical. It doesn't matter how many scratching things I provide, the sofa eventually gets their attending. But, information technology's a microfiber sofa then they can't get their claws in it. :terminate:
